Depending what numbers or trends you look at in Wisconsin in this heated presidential election cycle, with any level headed citizen, you can argue that Wisconsin is split right down the middle between Trump and Harris. Why, I have no idea. But that is not the point of this column.
No, the point of this column is short and sweet. It will be to the point. And that point is - Republican Assembly Speaker, Robin Vos, is in a hotly contested three way race in the 33rd District between Kelly Clark, himself and some lunatic democrat who thinks transing children is ok and abortion up to birth should actually be a thing. And by some of the internals and depending where you are looking, it shows Clark is either extremely close to catching the establishment Vos, or she’s actually ahead in some of the numbers.
The Vos campaign has never really cared up until recently when in the last week or so he has tried to make commercials where he tries to convince people he isn’t friends with China, which he is or that he’s not anti Trump (which a simple search of past Facebook posts and tweets will show he is indeed a Trump hater.
The way Vos has reacted to Kelly Clark (who was ABSOLUTELY a REPUBLICAN before Vos and his posse in the Racine County GOP kicked her out of the party for her support of Adam Steen in 2022), shows he is not only worried about the outcome on Tuesday, but that he also believes there is a chance that he may actually lose this time - Lord hear our prayer.
The part I can’t understand or wrap my head around is that Saturday a video was released by US Senator Ron Johnson endorsing Robin Vos. He stated that republicans shouldn’t split their vote between Clark and Vos and allow a democrat to sneak into that seat.
Sorry Ron, historically and by the numbers in a largely UNCHANGING voter demographic and in a heavily Republican area, where the dem has not achieved a level higher than 32% in this race when it was head to head, the chances of a democrat winning the race is slim to none, especially with many democrats following RFK Jr or going with many of the more common sense blue collar ideals of Kelly Clark (who because of Vos) has been forced to run as an independent - much like the touted Kennedy has done because of his party admonishing and rejecting him. Establishment is as establishment does Ron.
In April on a recorded call Ron Johnson refused to endorse Donald Trump saying basically he wants elections to play out and that’s why he doesn’t endorse. You can hear that obtained recording embedded below.
So my question I am asking is this Ron. And to the readers as well, not as an attack, but as a serious question. You are one of the most revered senators in the state of Wisconsins history. One who has always touted - as I have heard you say in person - that you are a candidate “of the people.” That has always been your message. (I won’t get into your flip flops within recent years on life and election integrity and how when someone questions you they get ignored, scoffed at and walked past).
But the only question that remains here is why on earth would you not endorse Trump, give your reasons why you don’t endorse anyone ever and then out of the blue choose to endorse a man who is involved in a tight race with another REAL Republican like Clark - a true we the people candidate. Why would you endorse a man who is absolutely NOT a man of, by and for the people of this state - your state - and pledge your political loyalty to when he has a 13% approval rating?
That’s what throws me for a loop Ron. THIRTEEN PERCENT. You finally make an endorsement for a candidate and you choose the one that 87% of the state can’t stand?
And to make it worse yes words like “crucial” when doing so. Crucial? Crucial for what? Crucial for established party politics? Change your mindset Ron. The only “crucial” here is that the people need honest representation and the country needs honesty and integrity again. Crucial…come on.
Help me understand Ron. What your endorsement means in truth, is not about keeping a democrat out. It’s about keeping in a man who stands for the opposite of free will in politics and free will of the people to have themselves represented by a real candidate who would do exactly that in Kelly Clark. It means you are willing to completely ignore what 87% of the PEOPLE think and want and that you’re willing to use scare tactics like “a democrat will win if you don’t support the guy with the R as opposed to the woman who would represent the republic.
That’s sad Ron. Because even IF the D gets 32%, that leaves 68% to be split. There’s no mathematical way or historical way to prove otherwise, that the D could in any universe win. Which is why the term scare tactic is referenced. Unfortunate.
Facts are facts. I guess establishment is as establishment does.
James, sure reminds me of earlier this year in Oregon, when Kari Lake put out her endorsement for Solomon Yue for National Committee Man from Oregon. Our jaws dropped because Solomon had been the biggest thorn in the side of “the individual” for the past 16 years,in this state. I said Kari Lake had bad info and moved on. These things happen beyond our control, but we remember them. This war is much bigger than us and we can only do what we believe is right. I appreciate your courage
