The people deserve better representation
But beware, you get what you vote for…
In Robin Vos’s world, your well being exists only for his gain. When Robin Vos feels threatened he doubles down on preserving his own skin more than caring about what you and your family need. He uses talking points and lies to cover up his own agenda.
I understand in the world of politics that there are deals that are made and there needs to be co promise in order to govern justly. So before your hair starts to stand up in defense, let me assure you that I am not preaching from a high pulpit of authority or ignorance.
There are countless examples to back up these “claims” and every time the little guy gets called on the carpet for being the snake oil salesman that he is, he goes off on never ending rants calling the people names like radical, crazy and the ever loathed and name to not be mentioned - “patriot”.
So when Robin Vos hand selects a candidate to run for office it’s either because it is a non contested seat where one of his previous stooges has decided to retire or leave, OR there is already a candidate he fears in a race and he will do WHATEVER it takes to beat them in that race by finding another stooge who he can drag across the finish line and manipulate after they get to Madison.
In this particular piece I am writing about a specific race in the 27th Assembly District which covers all of Sheboygan county except the city and the far eastern piece of fond du lac county.
The two candidates that are running against each other in the Republican primary for the 27th are Lindee Brill and Brian Hilbelink.
Lindee entered the race and two days later, the incumbent, Terry Katsma - who was a flag pole for Robin Vos during his tenure decided to retire from his seat two days later.
Enter Brian Hilbelink who received a shoulder tap from not only Terry but also it is public knowledge that he was personally contacted by Robin Vos himself and told that his campaign would be handled essentially.
Which brings me to my point for this article.
Brian Hilbelink, who lives in Oostburg and is running for the 27th, who is already being “managed” it seems kind of stepped in it recently without “even knowing it”… you’re probably asking “whatever do you mean James?” “Why would you say such things?” “That’s not very nice to accuse anyone of stuff like that in the great state of Wisconsin where everyone waves, smiles, laughs, jokes and yucks it up because everyone here are friends and everything’s perfect and…” …ok ill stop. Sorry about that rant, almost lost my cool there and went off on a tirade… ;)
THE REASON I can say what I am about to say is because there is only ONE EXPLANATION for what happened and it proves the point that Robin Vos is a wannabe godfather who forces ring kissing and does it through coercion. Coercion birthed through “helping you” then calling on the favor later on down the road.
You see the issue here is that they somewhat overplayed their hand with Brian Hilbelink this time because - (insert drumroll here) - THERE ARE TWO BRIAN HILBELINKS in Sheboygan County. Huh? For kicks we will call the Brian who is actually running for the 27th “Brian #1” and innocent bystander Brian who is NOT RUNNING for anything and is just minding his own business, “Brian #2”. Ok? Ok.
About a week ago, I just happened to see a Facebook post from “Brian #2” who I am friends with on the social media site, stating that someone showed him a campaign mailer from “Brian #1” with (insert SECOND drumroll) a stolen without permission cover photo off of “Brian #2” Facebook page of him and his two sons! See photo below of mailer with said photo encircled.
Why is this a BIG deal you ask?
Because - while other state and local politicians who are Vos sycophants like Amy Binsfeld, Terry Katsma and local mayors of towns like Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls, have either endorsed “Brian #1” with words or events or actual money, Vos has obviously hired on FOR “Brian #1”, independent funds like the Wisconsin Strong Fund who sourced this specific mailer. These idiots DIDN’T even think to choose the right photo for the right candidate.
I’m going to tell you exactly what happened as a detective in the world’s easiest case to solve.
They haphazardly went on Facebook, searched for Brian Hilbelink and “Brian #2” popped up because the profile for “Brian #1” is a combined page for he AND his wife so when you only search for his first and last, it doesn’t come up in the search queue. Said fund says “oh what a nice photo of “Brian #1” and his sons in baseball uniforms!” Problem is dimwit, “Brian #1” is NOT “Brian #2” in the photo you chose to send to thousands of mailer recipients and those are NOT his children!”
If you’re following this entire long winded saga, we have now reached the crux of the issue and it’s time to wrap up the entirety of the “Brian #1” campaign…
“Brian #1” IS NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN in charge of his own campaign from day one. On the first hand, he waffled on whether or not he was going to run altogether and then when Vos called him, he finally decided he would run after registering for the race prior to, and then changing his mind again and told many people he didn’t feel like he was all in and therefore was not actually going to run.
Second, now that we also know that Vos told him basically that his folks are going to handle stuff like funding signs, literature and events. And so why would “Brian #1” worry about anything? Well “Brian #1”, here’s why you should be in charge of your own stuff and not rely solely on your handler…
Stuff like the mailer shows who and what you really are and believe in. Vos controls you and you don’t even know it. You didn’t check your own mailer before it went out to THOUSANDS of constituents?
You left it up to ME to out the fact that you’re not in control of ENSURING THAT YOUR CAMPAIGN IS YOURS AND YOURS ALONE??? You haven’t said one word about it and have pretended you don’t know about it. The silence is deafening. At a bare MINIMUM you should apologize publicly to “Brian #2” for putting a photo out that doesn’t belong to you and clearly and obviously you or your handlers fund (run by folks in FLORIDA by the way) didn’t ask permission to use!
Folks, if you belong to Vos it is a personal choice. What “Brian #1” did was what he didn’t do. That simply means that he is in control of nothing. He belongs to a group of sponges soaking up every ounce they are fed. He has already - and maybe not even realizing it - turned his ability to represent the people of his potential district into dust because he will vote with the leadership every single time because he owes allegiance.
He thinks - just like the rest of the clan that Vos has eating scraps out of his hands - that it’s a compliment to be told to run for a seat. When in reality, all it means is that you’re viewed an easy mark and viewed as easily manipulatable.
It’s a shame. And some of you who read this will still not take the blinders off and say I am writing this as a bias. And you’re right. My bias is against a machine that has done nothing to help the people of this state. And the man at the steering wheel of that machine is Robin Vos.
I have nothing personally against the folks who run for office and work with or for Vos. What I do have a problem with is how they consistently show zero spine or intestinal fortitude to stand up against said machine. And seeing what has happened with this mailer as example with “Brian #1” and his lack of oversight for his own campaign for the afore stated reasons, it is clear he has a head start on the establishment game.
But there is hope. There is another candidate in the race. One who - lo and behold - has not received a fine from the Vos mafia, let alone a phone call. Her name is Lindee Brill. Her intentions are to represent the people and restore trust to this seat. And that is the only motivation she has. It’s a clear choice on August 13th for the primary choice. You can choose a true We the people candidate that will represent without strings attached and vote for the people…
…or you can vote for Vos. A man with a well deserved 16% approval rating statewide.
And if you choose to do that, just remember that you get what you vote for. More of the same old same old, do nothing, kick the can down the road, ring kissing by politicians that you’ve had since he sat his keister in the speakers chair. He may rule with an iron fist, but it’s a small iron fist - one that can be broken - one seat at a time - by sending the right people to Madison.
In this case, it isn’t Brian Hilbelink - aka “Brian#1”.
